- We actually want as many women to play as possible
- Because links are measured in hundreds of feet instead of hundreds of yards, disc golf makes far less demands on real estate
- Almost all courses are public, usually incorporated into public parks, so no greens fees or membership fees
- A starter set of three discs can be had for as little as $20, or you can begin with just a mid-range disc alone for less than $10. Compare that to even renting a bag of clubs for one day
- Because links are designed to exploit the existing terrain rather than imposing a whole system of artificial features (fairways, greens, bunkers &c.), elaborate irrigation and maintenance are not required — in other words, you can put a disc golf course in Las Vegas or Phoenix without impacting the water crisis those places are perpetuating
- You can’t really play ball golf up and down the side of a mountain
- By combining the club and the ball, you still have to make proper shot selection, but you are in much more direct control of the execution of that shot — fewer excuses
- The bad fashion hews more to the crunchy hippie rather than WASPy old man
- It is much easier to find a day-glo yellow object the size of a pie plate than an over sized marble
- If you have ever thrown a flying disc in your life, you already know how to play!
